YOUR LOVE IS NO LONGER THE SAME

Jer.2:2 (Part 2)

Have you ever been in a situation that you are so excited, inspired, and thrilled because you are in love. And it is your joy to give your time, energy, and even resources in the name of love. Afterwards, you begin to change and start to loose the excitement, the fervor, and even the joy that you have had before. You begin to be cold, uninterested, to the extent of not regarding anymore the feelings of the one you once loved. In our text we can see what happened to the people of God, whom he chose, blessed, and loved. He took them out of bondage from the Egyptians and promised them blessings and prosperity, and the only condition is to love Him by obeying His voice (Jer.7:23). Nevertheless, one day they are no longer interested nor obedient to the Lord anymore, they fall out of love. (Start of continuation part 2) Third, they have fooled God, (1)by their unashamed denial. The Lord said in verse 23, " How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways" The people of God were so brazen to tell the Lord that they are not polluted, and have not gone after Baalim. But truth of the matter is, God confronted and testified against them that they absolutely did it (v35). So many times believers are denying that they had fall out of love with the Lord when the Word of God and their conscience testify clearly that they are guilty before God. (2) by their unlawful desires. In Jer.2:24, the Lord testified against their unlawful desires, "A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her. The Word of God said, who can turn them away from their evil desires to worship and serve Baalim, when they were inclined to do it. There are believers in our churches who seem to be serving the Lord, but deep inside there are those desires that are not pleasing to the Lord and contrary to the Word of God. (3) by their ungrateful declaration. In verse 27, "Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us." We can see in this verse clearly how does God feels. The Israelites declared that that the stock and the stone( their IDOLS ) are the ones begotten them and they are what they call "father". They are simply saying that the source of their life and their protection are their idols and not God. Sadly, they have forgotten easily and denied blatantly all the great, amazing and wonderful works which the Lord showed to them, happenning before their very eyes. Unexpectedly, there are times in the life of the believers that they wrongly attribute the wondrous works of God in their life to other people, to their diligence and hardwork, and sometimes to favorable situations and circumstances, when the undeniable truth is, IT IS THE HAND OF GOD! Are you fooling God by saying you are walking closely to him, when you yourself know that it is a lie! (REPOST)
